Edgeplan is an independent planning consultancy providing advice and planning services, principally to the development industry including landowners, developers, occupiers and investors throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Our specialisms include providing strategic development advice and the submission of planning applications with supporting information and justification; negotiation with local planning authorities, consultees, interested parties and local communities. We also deliver ongoing planning advice during construction, implementation and operation of development projects.
Steve is a Chartered Town Planner with thirty years’ experience advising on development projects across the UK. Before establishing Edgeplan, he was a Planning Director with a national multidisciplinary consultancy, where he led a team working on major retail and commercial development.
Steve has particular expertise in development strategy, food/non-food retail and commercial planning, advising developers, investors and occupiers on complex projects from initial site assessment through to planning approval and delivery. As Planning Director, he oversees the practice while remaining closely involved in projects, providing senior-level strategic and commercial advice to clients and project teams.
James is a Chartered Town Planner with extensive private and public sector experience across Manchester and the North West. Having started his career in local government before moving into major multidisciplinary consultancy, he has advised volume housebuilders, developers and landowners on residential, commercial and strategic development.
His experience includes major schemes of up to 500 homes, together with strategic land promotion, planning applications and development negotiations. James has presented evidence at Local Plan Hearings, Public Inquiries and in Court. At Edgeplan, he leads on residential, commercial and healthcare projects across the country.
Murshed is a Chartered Town Planner with five years’ UK planning experience across Surrey, London, Cornwall and Manchester. He has led residential, commercial and mixed-use projects, advising clients from initial site appraisal and feasibility through to planning strategy, submission and determination.
With a Master’s degree in Planning from the University of Sheffield and an earlier background in architecture and masterplanning, Murshed brings experience in Green Belt, heritage and environmental matters, combining planning judgement, design understanding and commercial awareness to help clients identify opportunities and manage planning risk.
Dylan is a Planner based in London, with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Manchester and an RTPI-accredited Master’s degree from the University of Westminster. He is currently completing his Assessment of Professional Competence towards Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Dylan works across residential, commercial and other development projects, undertaking planning and policy research, site assessments and supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals. He works alongside Edgeplan’s senior planners throughout the development process, contributing to planning strategy, application preparation and project delivery on sites across the country.
As Chartered Town Planners, all our professional staff are required to maintain the standards of the Royal Town Planning Institute by undertaking Continuous Professional Development (CPD); and we also make sure we meet and exceed industry standards and those of our competitors.
